During the corona pandemic, AED is doing its part to help out. AED members contacted Michigan Medicine’s donation department to find out what help is needed at the hospital. The department told us that the staff working in COVID units love to get food donations since they have long shifts. Along with that, they have recently been asking for more scrubs.
In response, AED started raising money and contacting local restaurants in Ann Arbor. After only a week, we raised a total of $1233. Then on Saturday May 2nd we delivered 50 meals from Jerusalem Garden and 50 meals from Barry’s Bagels to U of M hospital. With the remaining money, we donated $390 to the Michigan Medicine COVID19 philanthropic fund and asked that it be used to purchase scrubs.
